The
family name Šimic is prevalent in many parts of Croatia, and in
Bosnia and Hercegovina, predominantly however on the Dalmatian
Coast. Tucepi, a present-day resort village on the Adriatic Sea
near Makarska has historically been home to the Šimics. Tucepi
a name of Ilirian origin literally means "by the wather"
or "by the spring" ....
This
coat-of-arms can be found in the Book of Coat-of-Arms of Noble Croatians.
This was bestowed on the Simics clan by King Charles IV in Cernik
near Nova Gradiška
